About me
Welcome to my website! My name is Bella Tanzer.
I am passionate about supporting people to experience flow, pursue transformation and find connection with themselves and others.
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and an MA degree in teaching Modern languages. I work in private practice and with HOPE Counselling in Edinburgh. I also teach at the University of Edinburgh.
I am accredited with ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors) and undergo regular supervision.
My offer for individuals
I work with a variety of issues such as low self esteem, post-traumatic stress, relationship difficulties and anxiety, work and health related issues as well as issues around faith and spirituality.
I also offer grief counselling as well as counselling for pregnancy- or parenting- related issues. I work with clients who want to explore new options where their life might be going or who want to learn to practice self-care.
My offer for couples
I help couples to strengthen and revitalize their relationship. Drawing inspiration from the renowned relationship experts John and Julie Gottman, I offer evidence-based strategies and practical tools to address various challenges that couples may face. I provide a safe and supportive environment for open communication, growth, and healing e.g. from affairs. Whether you’re seeking to improve communication, rebuild trust, or deepen your connection, I can walk with you on your journey towards a more fulfilling and intimate relationship.

How I work
I am an integrative counsellor which means that I draw upon different therapeutic models such as CBT, Systemic Counselling and Logotherapy, depending on the needs of my clients. My experience is that creativity can help to bypass conscious thought and may open up surprising perspectives and solutions. For this reason I sometimes use creative ways of exploring deeper issues such as drawing, writing and bibliotherapy if clients feel comfortable with that.
